Salary

• £40,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience

A warm UHNW family is seeking an experienced and proactive Housekeeper to support the running of their substantial private estate in East Sussex which is a part time residence, with occasional travel to London, Milan, and Switzerland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on, flexible, and professional Housekeeper who can work well independently and take initiative. The principals have six children (aged 3-13), and while childcare is not a primary focus, confidence supervising children and assisting where needed is essential.

The family is primarily based in Italy but uses the UK estate as a summer residence and for occasional visits throughout the year. When in residence, the household operates at full capacity and requires a candidate who can "hit the ground running" and integrate seamlessly with the wider team.

The Property
The East Sussex estate comprises:

• A substantial 10-bedroom main house
• A newly renovated 7-bedroom guest house
• A 3 bedroom cottage

The estate is supported by a full external team including a Head Groundsman, gardening team, maintenance staff, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• High-standard housekeeping across all properties on the estate
• Daily cleaning, upkeep, and presentation of the main house
• Laundry and ironing (a key focus), including care of delicate fabrics
• Bed changing and household preparation when the family is in residence
• Assisting with simple family cooking (e.g. pasta dishes) and kitchen support
• Running errands including grocery shopping and household provisioning
• Driving duties, including airport transfers and local journeys, errands etc
• Overseeing property readiness: running taps, flushing systems, airing rooms
• Assisting during family stays, events, and gatherings
• Supporting with packing/unpacking and general household organisation
• Occasional child supervision as required

Travel

• Occasional travel to Milan and Switzerland
• Ad hoc overnight stays in London (1-2 times per month if required)

The Ideal Candidate

• Experienced in private households, ideally within large country estates
• Proactive, efficient, and highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Flexible and adaptable, particularly during periods of family residence
• Confident driver (essential)
• Discreet, professional, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable in a family-led environment with a hands-on approach
