Events Executive - UK Brands

As an Events Executive, you will work within our event operations team to play an important role in contributing to critical event components, including managing guest lists, coordinating judging processes, managing small events, and completing administrative tasks for our UK grocery and retail awards and events. 

Being detail-orientated and using your administrative and organisational skills, you will partner with internal teams and suppliers to ensure event elements are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. Your impact will be felt in the delivery of high-quality events which unite the grocery and retail communities to celebrate its achievements and creating memorable experiences for attendees. 


What You’ll Be Doing
  • Coordinating the full entry and judging process, including drafting and managing correspondence with entrants, guests, sponsors, and judges, and arranging judge invitations and catering with approval from the Event Manager.
  • Liaising with finalists and delegates throughout the awards process, sending outcome communications, chasing assets for presentations, confirming award collectors, and logging finalist and winner details.
  • Overseeing guest logistics by maintaining the booking system, compiling guest lists, managing dietary requirements, inviting VIPs, and producing table plans where needed.
  • Managing the design, briefing, and approval of event materials such as tickets, menus, signage, brochures, and other print items, as well as researching and coordinating trophy sourcing, sign-off, and delivery.
  • Managing small events, with the guidance of the Event Managers.
  • Supporting on-site delivery by checking branding, setting up trophies and place cards, managing registration desks, briefing hosts, assisting rehearsals, and liaising with sponsors, venues, and guests.
  • Contributing to general event operations by attending meetings, assisting with research and entertainment planning, participating in post-event debriefs, and updating the website when required.

What You’ll Need
  • Previous administrative experience would be beneficial, with experience in a events assistant, coordinator or similar role advantageous.  
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word).
  • Clear and professional verbal & written communications skills, with proficiency in email communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy with guest lists, communications and event materials.
  • Fantastic time management with strong organisation skills to manage multiple priorities and event components simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team ethos and willingness to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify challenges, implementing timely and effective solutions to ensure seamless event delivery, as well as able to adapt to changing priorities, timelines and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to UK-based events and flexibility in working hours.
  • Genuine interest, eagerness to learn, and passion for events is essential.
