Architectural Technician

Location: Oxford

Salary: £34-40,000

An established architectural practice with a diverse portfolio across commercial, education, defence, and healthcare sectors is seeking a skilled Architectural Technician to join its friendly team in Oxford. This role offers the opportunity to support the technical design and delivery of large-scale projects across multiple RIBA stages, contributing to a wide range of schemes with a strong focus on technical detailing, compliance, and complex project requirements. It presents an excellent opportunity for a technician with strong construction knowledge and the ability to support projects from design development through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Support the technical delivery of projects across multiple RIBA stages
  • Produce detailed technical drawings, construction packages, and specifications
  • Assist in developing coordinated design solutions that meet technical and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with architects, consultants, and contractors to coordinate project information
  • Contribute to the preparation of 3D models and drawing packages using Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
  • Liaise with clients and project stakeholders to support efficient project delivery
  • Assist with site visits, responding to technical queries during construction phases
  • Work on projects across commercial, education, defence, and healthcare sectors, including technically complex environments

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
  • Experience within a UK-based architectural practice
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
  • Experience supporting projects across various RIBA stages
  • Previous sector experience in commercial, education, defence, or healthcare would be advantageous
  • Willingness to obtain security clearance where required for certain projects
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail
