You will be working withing our Building Services team based at Royal Derby Hospital in where we are responsible for creating healthy workplaces, comfortable homes and efficient facilities that improve people's lives. We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer where you will be providing a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality mechanical maintenance service within the hospital estate, with a strong focus on plumbing systems. This role supports the delivery of safe, compliant, and continuous healthcare services through planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.

As the Multi Skilled Engineer you will:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a wide range of mechanical systems, with a focus on plumbing installations including domestic hot and cold-water systems, drainage, sanitary ware, and associated plant.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to hospital mechanical services, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new plumbing/mechanical systems and modifications to existing installations.
  • Work from job tickets, technical drawings, and verbal instructions while ensuring work is carried out to high safety and quality standards.

We are looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical discipline.
  • Proven experience working on plumbing systems within a commercial or healthcare environment.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of HTMs and healthcare estate requirements.
