We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Shipley. This is a full-time 1:1 role supporting a pre-verbal Year 2 pupil with an EHCP, based within the classroom environment.

The Role

• Provide targeted 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs
• Work within the mainstream classroom (not a specialist provision unit)
• Deliver tailored SEN interventions to support communication, engagement, and learning
• Support the child with intimate care needs in a respectful and sensitive manner
• Build a strong, trusting relationship with both the pupil and their family
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies and plans

About You

• Experience working with children with Autism (ASD) is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and individualised support strategies
• Patient, nurturing, and able to adapt approaches to meet complex needs
• Confident supporting communication development, particularly with pre-verbal pupils
• Committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Able to form positive, professional relationships with parents and staff
