HRUC is proud to be opening a new SEND centre at Barra Hall in Hayes in September 2026. This welcoming new campus will provide a high-quality, inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including learners with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and complex needs.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Senior Learning and Care Support Assistant to play a key role in coordinating and delivering specialist support for students with complex care and learning needs.

The Role

Working closely with curriculum staff and specialist support teams, you will:

  • Coordinate the provision of learning and care support for students with profound and complex SEND
  • Design, develop, and implement Individual Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Individual Support Plans
  • Line manage and support a team of Learning and Care Support Assistants, providing guidance and leadership
  • Ensure accurate completion of relevant administration and care documentation
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment aligned with safeguarding best practice

This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a commitment to improving outcomes for learners with complex needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Training in Manual Handling, First Aid, Safe Administration of Medication, Epilepsy, Anaphylaxis, Dysphasia, and Diabetes, including the safe administration of insulin
  • Proven experience of providing specialist support to children or young people
  • Strong knowledge of effective support and intervention strategies for learners with profound and complex SEND
  • Experience of assessing children and young people to identify individual needs, with a good understanding of available interventions
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and support a team effectively
  • The ability and willingness to start work at 8.45am each day
