An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchase Ledger Controller to join a busy and fast-paced finance function based in Thatcham. This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The successful individual will take ownership of the purchase ledger process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls. This is a standalone role.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices, including matching to purchase orders and delivery notes
• Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger control account
• Preparing and processing supplier payment runs, including foreign currency payments
• Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries with internal teams and suppliers
• Reviewing courier invoices and supporting recharge processes
• Managing petty cash, including reconciliations and float control
• Assisting with month-end and year-end processes

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a purchase ledger / accounts payable role
• Experience using an ERP system (Epicor advantageous but not essential)
• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams

Working Pattern

• Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote

• £40,000 permanent equivalent Hourly Rate
• Temp-to-perm opportunity
