Job Title: Private Client Tax Manager

Location: Birmingham (with flexible working options)
Salary: £55,000 - £75,000

A well-established professional services firm is looking to recruit a Private Client Tax Manager to join its growing tax team in Birmingham. This role offers a strong blend of compliance and advisory work, focusing on high-quality private client tax services.

The team advises a diverse portfolio of individuals, including HNW clients, business owners, landlords, and family groups, covering both UK and international tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private client tax relationships
• Review and prepare complex self-assessment tax returns
• Deliver compliance and advisory services across income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax
• Advise on a range of planning areas including trusts, estates, residency and domicile issues
• Act as the main point of contact for client queries and ongoing relationships
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients where required
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide technical guidance
• Support billing, WIP management, and portfolio profitability
• Contribute to advisory projects and wider team initiatives

About You

• ATT / CTA qualified (or equivalent experience)
• Strong background in UK private client tax within practice
• Experience managing client portfolios
• Confident reviewing work and supporting junior staff
• Strong technical knowledge across personal tax matters
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
