An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Family Paralegal to join a successful and growing family law team in Devizes. This role offers hands-on experience across a broad range of family matters, working closely alongside experienced solicitors and fee earners.

This is the perfect role for someone who is passionate about family law, thrives in a client-facing environment, and wants clear progression opportunities towards a training contract or qualification route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting solicitors with a varied caseload of family law matters, including:

    • Divorce and separation
    • Financial remedy proceedings
    • Private children matters
    • Domestic abuse cases
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court bundles
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Attending client meetings and taking detailed instructions
  • Managing files and ensuring compliance with SRA and internal procedures
  • Supporting fee earners to progress matters efficiently and maintain high client care standards

About You

  • Previous experience working within family law as a paralegal or legal assistant is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of family law procedures and documentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to clients
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with case management systems
  • A law degree (LLB) or LPC/SQE is preferred but not essential
