Senior Credit Controller to join their team in a full-time, permanent capacity. With a strong international presence and ambitious growth plans, this organisation is recognised for its operational excellence and strong financial governance.
As part of their continued expansion, the business is looking to strengthen its finance function with an accomplished credit professional who can take ownership of complex accounts, support cash flow optimisation, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of credit control processes. This role is ideally suited to a proactive and commercially aware individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing both customer relationships and financial risk.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:
- Managing a portfolio of key and high-value customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt and minimising aged debt exposure
- Conducting credit checks and assessing customer risk profiles to support informed credit limit decisions
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to resolve payment queries and improve collection performance
- Supporting the management of complex or escalated accounts, including negotiation of payment plans where required
- Monitoring debtor balances, investigating overdue accounts, and proactively following up on outstanding invoices
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting by providing accurate debtor analysis and reporting
- Liaising with internal departments including Sales, Customer Service and Finance to resolve account discrepancies efficiently
- Supporting legal recovery procedures and working alongside external agencies or solicitors when required
- Producing regular reports on debtor performance, aged debt, cash collection and risk exposure for senior stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing credit control procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Providing guidance and support to junior members of the credit control team where appropriate
What you will need to Apply:The ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience within a senior credit control position, ideally gained within FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale or distribution environments. Applicants should possess strong knowledge of debtor management, credit risk assessment, and collections processes, alongside the confidence to manage complex customer accounts independently.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. Candidates should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing workloads effectively within a fast-moving environment.
A professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience working with credit insurance processes and legal recovery procedures would also be beneficial.
Applicants should possess strong technical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, familiarity with Business Intelligence reporting tools, and ideally exposure to Microsoft Dynamics D365.
