Description
Provide full financial leadership across the UK business, partnering the UK MD and Senior Management Team. Oversee all core finance activities including:
- Treasury and cash management
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Financial and statutory accounting
- Accounts Payable / Receivable
- Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and 5-year planning processes.
- Deliver robust financial analysis for strategic initiatives and capital investments (including DCF modelling)
- Partner with commercial and operational leaders to evaluate sales, pricing, and manufacturing strategies
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and statutory compliance across multiple UK entities.
- Provide oversight of tax, VAT and regulatory compliance, including group reporting requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls, and systems.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, building capability and succession.
- Ensure maintenance and compliance with SOX controls and US GAAP reporting standards.
- Support financial system development and transformation initiatives.
- Deliver ad hoc financial insight to support executive decision-making.
Profile
We are seeking a commercially minded, hands-on Finance Director with strong leadership capabilities and a track record in complex operating environments.
Candidate profile required;
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- 10+ years experience in senior finance / leadership roles
- Significant Manufacturing, Engineering, or Industrial sector exposure preferred
- Proven ability to operate effectively within a multi-entity / international structure
- Strong financial control, FP&A and reporting capabilities
- Experience with US GAAP and SOX compliance highly advantageous
- Excellent understanding of UK tax and VAT regulations
- Comfortable with financial systems, data, and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to partner and influence at Board level
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insight into operational action
- Hands-on, pragmatic leadership style suited to a mid-sized, multi-site organisation
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- High levels of organisation, analytical capability, and attention to detail
- Collaborative approach with the ability to lead and develop teams
