Goodman Masson are delighted to be partnering with Orwell Housing Association to recruit a Head of Repairs & Estates.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and customer-focused housing professional to lead the delivery of high-quality repairs, maintenance and estate services across Orwell’s housing portfolio.

As Head of Repairs & Estates, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring residents live in safe, well-maintained and thriving communities, while driving service excellence, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.

The Role

You will lead Orwell’s Repairs & Maintenance and Estate Services teams, ensuring the delivery of a sector-leading, customer-first service. The successful candidate will oversee compliance across housing and estate assets, including building safety and regulatory standards, while supporting the implementation of new legislation, policies and service improvements.

The role will also contribute to Orwell’s sustainability and environmental agenda, ensuring services remain aligned with the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards and wider organisational values.

About You

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with:

  • Strong experience within repairs, maintenance or asset management
  • Technical knowledge of building safety, compliance and housing regulations
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience managing significant budgets and delivering value for money
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A resilient, customer-focused and values-driven approach
  • A Level 5 qualification aligned to conduct and competence in social housing, or willingness to achieve this within the first 12 months

Previous experience within social housing is desirable.
