Catering Assistant

Location: GL56

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 14:00

Salary: £19,880 per year (pro rata)

Job Type: Part-time (30 hours per week)

Reed are excited to be partnering with a local company to recruit a catering assistant to support their busy weekday kitchen.

The role is key to ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintain high cleanliness and help to deliver a friendly and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations 

• Assist the chef with basic food preparation tasks
• Set up, restock, and clear food service areas
• Ensure all food is handled and stored safely in line with regulations

Cleaning & Dishwashing

• Operate commercial dishwashers safely and efficiently
• Clean utensils, equipment, and kitchen surfaces
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules

Dining Room Support

• Clean and sanitise tables between services
• Keep the dining area tidy, presentable, and welcoming
• Clear trays, crockery, and waste to maintain a smooth service flow

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Positive, can-do attitude

Desirable

• Previous experience in a kitchen or catering role
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain)
