School Receptionist

We are working with a school in Chelsea who are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist to support the front office function. This role is the first point of contact for visitors, parents, pupils and staff, and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school’s administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting as the first point of contact at the school reception, welcoming visitors and managing sign-in procedures
  • Answering and directing telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Managing general email inboxes and responding to routine enquiries
  • Supporting attendance administration, including recording late arrivals and absences
  • Maintaining accurate pupil, staff and visitor records
  • Liaising with parents, staff and external stakeholders as required
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
  • Providing general administrative support to the school office team
  • Assisting with diary management, room bookings and meeting arrangements
  • Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Person Specification
  • Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Professional, calm and approachable manner
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of school management systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor or similar)
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • This role is subject to safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.

Location: Chelsea, London

Hours: Part-time, Wednesday - Friday, on-site

Pay Rate: £17 per hour

Contract: 6 weeks temporary
