Our client, a well-established and growing business based in Stevenage, is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their collaborative finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to further develop their finance experience within a supportive and fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided, making this a great role for somebody with strong administration or transactional finance experience looking to grow their skillset.
The Role Working as part of a close-knit finance team, you will support day-to-day finance operations across payments, reconciliations and customer account management, whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and service throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining finance spreadsheets and records with a high level of accuracy
Processing payments and sales transactions using finance systems
Reconciling incoming payments and resolving discrepancies
Supporting credit control activities alongside the wider finance team
Managing finance-related data within internal systems
Responding to internal and external queries via phone and email
Liaising with colleagues regarding payment or account issues
Providing support and cover for other finance team members when required
Assisting with additional finance and administrative tasks as needed
About You
Previous finance, accounts or administration experience preferred but not essential
Strong data entry and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Excel and other finance systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A proactive and team-focused approach
Able to manage workload effectively and work independently when required
Experience with accounting systems would be advantageous
Previous credit control exposure would be beneficial but not essential
