Just Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established business within one of the UK's largest independent networks of trade merchants, with over 320 sites nationwide. We are seeking a proactive and organised Contracts Assistant to join their busy team in Ipswich.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role at the heart of contract operations, where you'll play a key part in ensuring major projects run smoothly by delivering the right materials to the right place, at the right time.
The Role
Working closely with contractors, site managers, and suppliers, you will coordinate deliveries, manage stock, and keep project schedules on track. No two days are the same, and your attention to detail and ability to build strong relationships will be essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day delivery of customer contracts, ensuring orders and deliveries remain on schedule Liaise with contractors and site teams to support project timelines Monitor stock levels and place orders to meet contract requirements Maintain accurate records, documentation, and delivery schedules Identify and escalate potential delays, supply issues, or stock risks Deliver a consistently high level of service to key customers
About You:
Previous experience supporting contracts, projects, or customer accounts Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams Experience with invoicing, project costing, and documentation Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems (CRM/scheduling tools) Essential: Knowledge of the trade merchant or building services industry
