Trade Counter Assistant

Location: Wickford Area

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (No weekends)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, busy plumbing and heating supplier who are looking to add a Trade Counter Assistant to their friendly and close-knit team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, family-run business known for its excellent customer service and strong industry reputation.

Working at the heart of the business, you will be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, providing advice, processing sales, and ensuring the smooth running of the counter.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter in a professional and helpful manner
• Offering product advice on plumbing and heating supplies
• Processing orders, sales, and payments
• Maintaining stock levels and merchandising displays
• Building strong relationships with regular trade customers
• Supporting general day-to-day branch operations

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience within a trade counter or similar customer-facing role
• Ideally come from a plumbing or heating background
• Have experience working in a small or family-run business environment
• Be personable, reliable, and confident dealing with customers
• Possess strong communication and organisational skills
• Be proactive and able to work well as part of a team in a busy environment
