Import Operations Coordinator (Freight Forwarding)

£26,500 – £32,000 (DOE)

Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00

We’re partnering with a well-established and growing freight forwarding business seeking an Import Operations Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with import experience, or a motivated junior candidate looking to build a long-term career in freight and logistics.

You’ll join a busy, supportive environment where you’ll take ownership of shipments and play a key role in delivering a high standard of service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage import shipments across air, road, and ocean freight
• Handle customer enquiries and prepare job quotations
• Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
• Oversee shipments from start to finish
• Complete job costing and raise invoices
• Maintain accurate records and manage your own workload effectively
• Provide occasional support to warehouse operations when required

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in freight forwarding or import operations (preferred)
• Exposure to customs procedures (CDS/CHIEF knowledge advantageous)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage your own desk and prioritise workloads
• Confident IT skills
• A proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach
