Bookkeeper London, West End Permanent | On-site £40,000 - £45,000
Overview We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a fast-growing luxury retail business in Central London. Reporting directly to the Founder, this is a hands-on role managing the day-to-day finances in a detail-driven environment. This is not a high-volume invoicing role — each transaction is complex, involving international shipping, customs, and tax considerations. Strong expertise in Xero and confidence handling multi-layered financial processes are essential. The position is initially fully office-based, with potential for hybrid working over time. Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations
Manage invoicing and payments across multiple currencies
Raise and issue detailed customer invoices for international orders, ensuring VAT and customs compliance
Perform bank and account reconciliations, maintaining accurate records
Oversee VAT processes, including preparation and submission of VAT returns
Work closely with operations and logistics teams on documentation and distribution workflows
Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, accruals, and prepayments
Manage credit control and ensure timely collection of payments
Liaise with external auditors and support internal compliance
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
Experience with international trade, logistics, or import/export processes highly desirable
Proven ability to manage complex invoicing rather than high-volume processing
High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Confident communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally
