A mainstream secondary school in Preston is seeking a Design Technology Teacher with strengths in Product Design and Resistant Materials to join their team from September. This is a long-term role running through to Easter 2027, paid to scale from the first day.

About the RoleAs a Design Technology Teacher, you'll be joining a well-established DT department with excellent facilities and a supportive leadership team. The school is looking for someone who can deliver engaging, practical and theory-based lessons across KS3 and KS4, with a particular focus on Product Design and Resistant Materials.You'll be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing high-quality lessons that inspire creativity, problem-solving and technical skill development. The department values innovation, hands-on learning and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3-KS4 with a focus on Product Design and Resistant Materials
• Plan and assess in line with curriculum requirements
• Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment
• Support students of all abilities, encouraging progress and confidence
• Contribute to departmental development and collaborative planning

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge in Product Design and Resistant Materials
• Experience teaching in a UK secondary school setting
• A proactive, creative and resilient teaching style
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
