Eden Brown Synergy are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Haverhill Social Care Team at Suffolk County Council on a high-paying agency contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Children's Social Worker with strong frontline experience within Assessment and Safeguarding services to join a supportive and fast-paced local authority team.

About the Role

The Haverhill Team works closely with children and families across a varied caseload, supporting vulnerable children through Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, Assessment, and Support & Prevention work.

You will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking assessments under Section 17 and Section 47
  • Managing Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans
  • Completing timely and high-quality assessments
  • Working within a fast-paced frontline environment
  • Supporting children and families through safeguarding processes
  • Multi-agency working with professionals and partner agencies
  • Maintaining accurate case recordings and reports

Team & Working Arrangements

  • Office base primarily in Haverhill, due to proximity to families
  • Opportunity to work from West Suffolk House depending on caseload requirements
  • Attendance at CP Conferences and meetings required
  • Average caseload: approximately 30
  • Hybrid working available with 3 office-based days per week
  • Condensed hours across 4 days can be considered
  • Excellent location for candidates commuting from Cambridge, Peterborough, Essex, and surrounding areas

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualified experience within a UK Local Authority Children's Services team
  • Strong experience within Assessment and Safeguarding teams
  • SWE Registration
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced frontline service
