Overview

Mitchell Adam are pleased to be working with a rapidly growing manufacturing and engineering business based in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to support a key operational entity within their expanding group structure. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable accountant to join a complex production-led environment, offering strong exposure to manufacturing finance, operational performance and commercial reporting within a business continuing to scale.

Working closely with senior finance and operational leadership, you will take ownership of monthly management accounts while developing a detailed understanding of the manufacturing and production cycle that sits behind the numbers. This role will involve strong exposure to BOMs, production accounting, product costing and margin analysis, ensuring reporting accurately reflects operational realities across stock, manufacturing output and commercial performance.

Alongside month-end and reporting responsibilities, you will play a key role in producing and analysing operational KPIs around stock, yield loss and production efficiency, helping to translate shop-floor activity into meaningful financial insight. You will also support budgeting, cashflow forecasting and wider decision-making, working closely with operational teams to ensure finance remains embedded in both strategic and day-to-day performance.

Skills Needed

• Strong understanding of management accounts, trial balance and month-end processes.
• Experience within manufacturing, production or stock-led environments.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse performance and present meaningful insight.
• Ambitious and commercially minded, with the desire to develop within a growing business.
