Accountant - AAT Qualified

An established and expanding accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced AAT Qualified Accountant to join their team. This is a varied role within a growing firm, offering the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment. The position would suit someone who can work independently, deliver high-quality work, and build strong client relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

• Producing statutory accounts from initial figures through to completion for a varied client portfolio
• Handling VAT compliance processes, including preparation and submission of returns
• Delivering regular financial reporting and management information where required by clients
• Supporting the completion of corporation tax filings and personal tax obligations
• Providing oversight and feedback on work carried out by less experienced team members
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a reliable point of contact for day-to-day queries
• Attending meetings with clients as needed to discuss financial matters

What We're Looking For

• Professionally qualified (AAT or equivalent) with a solid background in an accountancy practice environment
• Proven track record of preparing accounts through to completion with minimal supervision
• Good understanding of core compliance areas, including VAT and general taxation matters
• Experience working closely with clients, with the confidence to handle queries and explain financial information clearly
• Previous involvement in checking or supporting the work of junior colleagues
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
• Familiarity with modern accounting systems and digital tools (such as cloud-based platforms)
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to attend meetings off-site when required
