Teaching Assistant 1:1 Support

Location: Plymouth
Duration: ASAP until end of term
Hours: 10 am to 2pm
Salary: £14.61 ph

Reed Education are seeking a patient and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a primary school in Plymouth.

This role is available to start immediately and will run until the end of the current term. It offers a rewarding opportunity to support a pupil who requires a tailored and consistent approach to learning.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting learning for KS2 pupil currently learning at a Year 1 to Year 2 level through adapted activities
• Managing focus, engagement and behaviour through a calm and structured approach
• Supporting the pupil with routine, organisation and transitions
• Encouraging positive participation in classroom activities
• Working closely with the class teacher to ensure consistent support

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience supporting children who require additional guidance with focus and behaviour
• Be patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
• Be confident adapting learning to suit different ability levels
• Have a good understanding of strategies to support attention, engagement and structure
• Be able to build a strong and trusting relationship
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
