About the role

This role leads finance support for 2 sites across Bristol and Cardiff. You’ll act as a trusted finance partner to regional and local leaders, providing insight, challenge, and clear financial guidance to support decision-making.

You’ll focus on management accounting, forecasting, and commercial analysis. Day-to-day transaction processing is handled by a shared service centre, allowing you to concentrate on value-adding work.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable being the sole finance lead in the region.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a finance business partner to local and regional managers
  • Produce monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Deliver variance analysis, KPIs, and ad-hoc insight to drive performance
  • Identify risks and opportunities and challenge assumptions
  • Prepare monthly review packs and attend review meetings
  • Analyse and explain performance variances with clear recommendations
  • Review margins, costs, and profitability, including new business
  • Carry out consignment analysis, reconciliation, and stock review
  • Support monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reviews
  • Strengthen and maintain financial controls
  • Support the Head of Finance with projects and commercial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal control and governance requirements

About you

  • Qualified accountant
  • Confident influencing non-finance stakeholders
  • Commercial, curious, and comfortable challenging decisions
  • Experience in FMCG, multi-site, or fresh produce environments is helpful
