Farrer Barnes is delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice based in Maidstone, Kent to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join a reputable practice, managing a varied client portfolio and taking ownership of accounts preparation, tax, and advisory work.
The Role – Senior Accountant:
- Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Complete corporation tax returns and personal tax computations
- Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact
- Review and support junior staff with bookkeeping and accounts work
- Assist with VAT returns, management accounts, and compliance work
- Liaise with clients to provide proactive accounting and advisory support
- Ensure work is completed in line with UK GAAP and relevant tax regulations
About You – Senior Accountant:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or QBE with strong practice experience
- Proven background in a UK accountancy practice environment
- Strong experience in accounts preparation and tax compliance
- Confident managing your own client portfolio
- Good knowledge of corporation tax, VAT, and self-assessment tax
- Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
- Ability to support and mentor junior team members
