Site Officer / Caretaker

We are seeking a dedicated Site Officer / Caretaker to ensure our school premises are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. This role involves a range of responsibilities from maintenance to security, playing a crucial role in the daily operations and safety of our school.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Perform daily cleaning of the school buildings and site to maintain a hygienic standard.
• Manage the security of the school premises, including opening, closing, locking, and unlocking of buildings and gates.
• Set and unset alarm systems, monitor CCTV systems, and ensure all windows and doors are secured.
• Conduct general maintenance tasks as directed, including minor repairs and grounds maintenance to enhance the site's appearance.
• Carry out safety checks and maintenance of fire precautions, emergency lighting, and alarm points.
• Inspect and ensure the safe operation of mechanical and electrical plant systems.
• Prepare and manage the premises for school events and ensure all equipment and materials are available and in good condition.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a caretaking or facilities management role.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks and ability to perform physical work.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain high standards of cleanliness and security.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently.

Additional Information:

• This role requires the postholder to be a main key holder with 24-hour responsibility for school security, including emergency callouts.
