Location: Long Stratton, Norfolk

Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £41,000 per annum


We are delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a 'Service Charge & Rent Officer' on a permanent, full-time basis!


Purpose of the role:

The Service Charge & Rent Officer manages service charges and rent for 7,000+ homes, including working with managing agents. The role covers setting, billing, reconciling and collecting charges, while ensuring accuracy, transparency and compliance with legislation.

The post holder would work closely with internal teams, residents and contractors to resolve queries and disputes effectively and supports fair, consistent service delivery across the organisation.


Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Support service charge budgeting by working with internal teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting.
  • Manage billing and administration, including calculating, issuing and reconciling service charges, rents, and utility costs.
  • Set charges for new developments and ensure accurate allocation across all properties.
  • Review and process managing agent costs, challenging discrepancies and ensuring value for money.
  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation, regulatory requirements, and audit processes.
  • Act as a key contact for residents, handling queries, complaints, and providing clear explanations of charges.
  • Work with contractors and teams to ensure services are delivered to standard and reflected accurately in charges.
  • Identify and support improvements to processes, systems and service delivery.


Key Person Specification:

  • • Degree level or equivalent relevant professional qualification or qualified by experience.
  • • Evidence of continued professional development
  • • Have or are working towards a Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 2 or above, or similar.
