MIS & Business Manager (Maternity Cover)

  • Annual Salary: £40,673 (£21.14 per hour)
  • Location: Blackpool
  • Job Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover until end of May 2027
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week (4 days office, 1 day work from home)

Join an Adult, Community and Family Learning team as an MIS & Business Manager. This maternity cover role is crucial for managing data systems, ensuring funding compliance, and leading administrative operations. You will be at the heart of the service, playing a vital part in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of learner data, reporting, and processes in alignment with external funding and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Data, Reporting & Compliance:
    • Oversee all data collection, validation, and reporting processes.
    • Ensure accurate and timely submissions to funding bodies, particularly ESFA.
    • Monitor compliance with Ofsted and funding requirements.
    • Produce reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
  • Systems & Process Improvement:
    • Manage and maintain MIS systems, such as TERMS.
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to ensure data systems are accurate, up-to-date, and fit for purpose.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and develop the AFCL Administration Team, ensuring high standards of data input, customer service, and operational support.
    • Deliver training to staff to enhance system use and data accuracy.
  • Finance & Performance:
    • Monitor budgets and financial transactions.
    • Support funding claims and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Provide insights to support financial planning and performance tracking.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in data management, reporting, or MIS systems.
  • Proven ability to manage or lead a team.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience within Further Education, Adult Learning, or training providers.
  • Knowledge of ESFA funding, ILR returns, or Ofsted requirements.
  • Familiarity with MIS platforms like TERMS, ProMonitor, or Maytas.
