Description

As the Financial Controller / Head of Finance, you will assume full responsibility for the finance function and act as the principal financial advisor to the directors. Key responsibilities include:

• Production of monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and forecasts
• Work-in-progress, contract accruals and margin analysis
• Weekly contract and valuation performance tracking
• Daily cash management and rolling cashflow forecasting
• Monthly VAT returns, PAYE submissions and CIS compliance
• End-to-end payroll processing and pension administration
• Overhead analysis and cost control
• Oversight of sales, nominal, subcontractor and purchase ledgers
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Year-end audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
• Group reporting and consolidation where required
• Attendance at monthly management meetings, providing commercial insight

Profile

The successful Financial Controller / Head of Finance should meet the following requirements:

• You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with proven experience in a construction or contracting environment.
• You will have strong working knowledge of WIP, CIS and cashflow management, and be comfortable operating as the number one finance lead within an owner-managed business.
