Account Handler (Contingency Insurance) - £40K-50K (DoE) - City of London (3 days)
A specialist contingency insurance broker based in the City of London, with a strong presence in the event-driven risks market. The business operates across UK and international markets, placing cover for a range of event-driven risks through the Lloyd’s market.
Job Purpose:
Act as intermediary between internal business producers and Lloyd's and Company insurance markets, specialising in Contingency Insurance for event-driven risks, managing the insurance placement process from initial quote requests through to policy completion and ongoing servicing of international broking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and evaluate incoming insurance enquiries, conducting risk research and analysis
- Prepare quote slips incorporating risk details and coverage requirements, coordinating with placing brokers
- Receive terms from placing brokers and distribute quotations to clients/retail brokers
- Create MRC (Market Reform Contract) slips post-bind and load into PPL (Placing Platform Limited)
- Liaise with underwriters to obtain stamps and approvals on documentation
- Coordinate with processing team for accurate system loading and transaction records
- Handle policy endorsements and provide ongoing client and broker support
- Maintain comprehensive client and policy records
- Assist with claims’ processes where required
Required skills:
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and market practices
- Comprehensive knowledge of Contingency Insurance products and London Market procedures
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and insurance software systems (including PPL)
- Professional insurance qualifications (CII/ACII)
Performance Expectations:
- Deliver timely service and manage multiple client priorities effectively
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and policy administration
- Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication in all internal, client and market interactions
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, company policies, and Lloyd's market practices
- Maintain professional relationships with internal broking teams, business producers and insurers
- Maintain current knowledge of Contingency Insurance products and London Market procedures
- Support business operations and process improvement initiatives
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required
Position Details:
Location: Minimum 3 days a week in the City of London, with the remaining time working from home.

Salary: Up to £50,000 (DoE)
