  • Job Type: Part-time (2 days per week) - Monday and Wednesday
  • Location: Lancaster - Secondary School
  • Duration: Temporary (1st June to 15th July)
  • £16.35 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Food Technician to assist and support the Food Technology Teacher. This role is crucial in helping with the planning and preparation of classes, as well as managing the cleaning and washing up post-class. This position is ideal for someone who is organised, efficient, and passionate about contributing to a dynamic educational environment, food hygiene certificate required.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist the Food Technology Teacher in the preparation of materials and equipment for classes.
  • Ensure all ingredients and supplies are prepared ahead of each class session.
  • Manage the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment post-class to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Support the teacher during lessons to facilitate smooth and effective class operations.
  • Help in organising and storing all food technology resources.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety standards in a kitchen environment.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
