Trainee Financial Planner

Capio Recruitment Financial Planning

Trainee Financial Planner

Nottingham

We’re working with a leading wealth management firm on a really strong opportunity within their Nottingham office, ideal for someone looking to move into advice in a structured and supported way. This isn’t a “throw you in the deep end” adviser role. Instead, you’ll join initially as a Paraplanner, with a clear pathway to transition into an Adviser position over the next 12 months.

The Opportunity

You’ll be part of an established wealth management team supporting HNW and private clients across investments, pensions and broader financial planning.

From day one, you’ll be working closely with advisers of all levels, gaining real exposure to how advice is delivered, while building your technical foundation properly.

Over time, the role evolves into advice, gradually increasing your involvement in client relationships and meetings.

What you’ll be doing (initially)

  • Supporting advisers with financial planning and recommendations
  • Preparing suitability reports and client documentation
  • Conducting research across pensions, investments and tax planning
  • Sitting in on client meetings and learning the advice process end to end
  • Analysing client needs to help construct tailored financial solutions

Progression into Advice (12-month plan)

  • Start leading parts of client meetings
  • Build relationships with existing clients alongside senior advisers
  • Gradually take ownership of your own clients
  • Move into a fully competent Financial Adviser role with ongoing support

Why this role stands out

  • Clear, structured pathway into advice
  • Learn properly before taking on clients
  • Work alongside experienced advisers and HNW client cases
  • Strong brand and support infrastructure
  • Collaborative environment focused on development

What they’re looking for

  • Experience in paraplanning or financial planning support
  • Working towards or achieved Level 4 (DipPFS/DipFA)
  • Strong interest in becoming an Adviser
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn
