My client may be looking for someone like you.

This is a hands-on busy role. It needs someone who knows their way around the mechanics of payroll and can own the end-to-end process for a company for nearly 500 people. I'm Ideally looking for someone who is CIPP qualification or someone who has the tried and tested, hands-on experience working in payroll currently. 

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll administration, including importing time and attendance data, validating outputs, and reconciling reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Managing employee lifecycle changes such as onboarding, exits, and contractual updates within payroll systems.
  • Maintaining and reviewing payroll data including pay structures, PAYE tax codes, and personal records.
  • Interpreting and applying HMRC notices, tax code amendments, and statutory deductions, while acting as a point of contact for payroll-related queries.
  • Calculating and processing statutory payments in line with current legislation (SSP, SMP, SPP and related entitlements).
  • Coordinating payroll payments via BACS and overseeing the secure distribution of payslips and statutory documentation (including P45s).
  • Submitting payroll returns and reports through HMRC online systems, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Administering workplace pension auto-enrolment, including assessment, enrolment, opt-outs, and ongoing scheme maintenance.
