We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Officer (Fire) to join a dynamic Estates and Specialist Services team. This is a key role supporting the delivery of expert fire safety advice across Trust facilities, ensuring compliance and promoting a strong culture of safety across all sites.

About the Role

The post holder will support the Health and Safety Manager (Fire) in providing a professional, organisation-wide fire safety advisory service. You will play a vital role in ensuring fire safety standards are maintained, risks are effectively managed, and best practice is embedded across all departments and facilities.

37.5 Hours - Full time available.

You will work closely with senior leaders, managers, staff, and external stakeholders to promote fire safety awareness and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert fire safety advice, guidance, and support across Trustwide facilities.
  • Assist in developing and promoting a positive fire safety culture across the organisation.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of fire safety policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with senior colleagues, managers, and stakeholders to manage fire risks effectively.
  • Contribute to inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations where required.
  • Ensure fire safety standards are consistently maintained and improvements are identified and implemented.
About You
  • Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, compliance, and best practice.
  • Experience in a health & safety or fire safety-related role within a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
  • Proactive approach to promoting safety culture and continuous improvement.
  • 12 months relevant work experience.
