We’re looking for experienced HR Advisers and Senior HR Advisers to join our proactive HR & Organisational Development team.


In this role, you’ll deliver a high-quality, generalist HR advisory service, supporting managers across the organisation. You’ll play a key part in driving organisational effectiveness, improving employee relations, and delivering impactful HR solutions aligned to our People Strategy.

Senior HR Advisers will also operate at a more strategic level, advising senior leaders and contributing to corporate HR initiatives.

Contract: Until Aug 2026 with a potential extension

Location: Reading, RG1

Working Hours: Full time Monday to Friday

Hybrid: 80% hybrid

Payrate: £35 p/h up to £42 p/h

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing expert HR advice on a wide range of issues including:
  • Employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, capability)
  • Organisational change, restructuring & redundancy (including TUPE)
  • Performance, absence, and wellbeing management
  • Supporting managers through complex cases, investigations and hearings
  • Contributing to HR policy development and continuous improvement
  • Building strong relationships with managers and stakeholders
  • Delivering training, coaching and guidance on HR best practice
  • Working with Trade Unions to support positive employee relations
  • Using data and insights to inform decision-making and improve services

At Senior level, you will also:

  • Advise senior leaders and attend management forums
  • Lead projects and key HR initiatives
  • Support organisational change and strategic workforce priorities
  • Influence decision-making using HR data and insights

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Proven HR experience within a complex organisation
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities

Qualifications:

  • HR Adviser: CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
  • Senior HR Adviser: CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience)
