We’re looking for experienced HR Advisers and Senior HR Advisers to join our proactive HR & Organisational Development team.
In this role, you’ll deliver a high-quality, generalist HR advisory service, supporting managers across the organisation. You’ll play a key part in driving organisational effectiveness, improving employee relations, and delivering impactful HR solutions aligned to our People Strategy.
Senior HR Advisers will also operate at a more strategic level, advising senior leaders and contributing to corporate HR initiatives.
Contract: Until Aug 2026 with a potential extension
Location: Reading, RG1
Working Hours: Full time Monday to Friday
Hybrid: 80% hybrid
Payrate: £35 p/h up to £42 p/h
What you’ll be doing
- Providing expert HR advice on a wide range of issues including:
- Employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, capability)
- Organisational change, restructuring & redundancy (including TUPE)
- Performance, absence, and wellbeing management
- Supporting managers through complex cases, investigations and hearings
- Contributing to HR policy development and continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships with managers and stakeholders
- Delivering training, coaching and guidance on HR best practice
- Working with Trade Unions to support positive employee relations
- Using data and insights to inform decision-making and improve services
At Senior level, you will also:
- Advise senior leaders and attend management forums
- Lead projects and key HR initiatives
- Support organisational change and strategic workforce priorities
- Influence decision-making using HR data and insights
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- Proven HR experience within a complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience managing complex employee relations cases
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
Qualifications:
- HR Adviser: CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
- Senior HR Adviser: CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience)
