We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2 years' experience in finance or accounts who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Description

As Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance function across day-to-day accounting activities, month-end processes, reporting, and reconciliations. You will work closely with senior finance staff and gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Processing journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable activities
  • Assisting with VAT returns and financial reporting
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and spreadsheets
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assisting with audits and compliance requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and controls

Profile

  • Around 2 years' experience within a finance or accounts role
  • AAT qualified or currently studying CIMA/AAT
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Confident using Excel and accounting systems
  • Eager to learn and progress within an accounting career
  • Positive attitude with strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
