An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in the Maidstone area from September 2026 on a permanent basis.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with the potential for KS5, depending on experience). The successful candidate will inspire students to develop practical cooking skills, an understanding of nutrition, and a passion for food and healthy living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging Food Technology lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress in line with curriculum expectations
  • Maintain a safe and organised practical classroom environment
  • Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional needs
  • Contribute to the wider Design & Technology department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A commitment to inclusive and high-quality teaching
