We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a business based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, offering stability and progression for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Raising and managing purchase orders
  • Updating and maintaining jobs on the company haulage system
  • Ensuring jobs are correctly processed prior to sales invoice generation
  • Supporting the credit control function, including chasing outstanding debt
  • Assisting with general finance administration and reporting
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure accurate job costing and invoicing

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or credit control role
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger and sales processes
  • Experience working with job costing or haulage systems (desirable)
  • Confident working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Good communication skills for internal and external queries
