About Us
We are a busy and well-established hospitality venue located on the outskirts of Ipswich, specialising in weddings, conferences, meetings, corporate events, private dining, and seasonal events.
We are now looking for an experienced and motivated Sales, Marketing & Events Manager to lead our events sales operation and develop creative marketing initiatives that drive revenue and guest engagement.
The Role
This is a hands-on role combining:
- Hotel sales
- Event management
- Wedding coordination
- Hospitality marketing
- Business development
- Conference & banqueting administration
You will be responsible for managing the full client journey from initial enquiry through to event delivery while working closely with operational departments to ensure exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all meetings, weddings, conference, and event enquiries
- Maximise revenue opportunities through proactive sales activity
- Maintain and manage the Events Diary
- Coordinate function sheets, contracts, invoicing, and event administration
- Plan and promote weddings, Christmas parties, themed events, and open days
- Create targeted marketing campaigns, email promotions, and social media content
- Maintain website updates, blog content, and online listings
- Analyse competitor activity, market trends, and customer data
- Build relationships with local businesses, OTAs, and third-party providers
- Conduct site visits, client show rounds, and familiarisation events
- Work closely with kitchen, banqueting, and operations teams
- Support and oversee the Events team
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospitality events, hotel sales, or conference & banqueting
- Strong sales and marketing experience
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience using hotel booking/front office systems (Opera, Fidelio, ResLynx, or similar)
- Knowledge of social media marketing and email campaigns
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously
- Full UK Driving Licence and own transport
Desirable:
- Experience with weddings and large-scale events
- Knowledge of Google Analytics and digital marketing tools
- Experience within a hotel or venue environment
