Production Manager

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE)

About the Role

An experienced Production Manager is required to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Chesterfield.

This is a key leadership role responsible for managing production operations in a fast-paced factory environment, ensuring output, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved.

You will play a central role in driving performance, leading teams, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily production plans to meet customer demand and OTIF targets
• Oversee manufacturing processes including CNC machining, fabrication, painting, and assembly
• Ensure product quality standards are consistently met
• Lead production teams, including meetings and performance management
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles
• Liaise with sales, procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams
• Monitor production performance, costs, and labour efficiency
• Oversee maintenance activity across production equipment
• Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements
• Investigate and resolve production issues, delays, and defects
• Maintain production reports, KPIs, and performance data

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Production Manager or Senior Production Supervisor role
• Strong background in fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Good understanding of production processes and workflows
• Experience with CNC machinery (desirable)
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Track record of improving OTIF, OEE, or efficiency metrics
• Lean Manufacturing experience (desirable)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
