Head of Drama (GCSE)

A well-regarded Jewish secondary school in Bushey is seeking an inspiring and committed Head of Drama to lead and develop the Drama department from September. This role focuses on GCSE Drama, alongside KS3 provision, and is an excellent opportunity for a Drama specialist ready to take on subject leadership within a supportive, values-driven school community.

The Role

• Leading the Drama department, including curriculum planning and development
• Teaching Drama across KS3 and GCSE level
• Preparing pupils for GCSE Drama, including performance and written components
• Managing enrichment opportunities, productions and performances
• Taking on Form Tutor responsibilities
• Contributing positively to the wider life and ethos of the school

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong experience teaching Drama at KS3 and GCSE
• Previous experience as Head of Department, or ready to step up into a leadership role
• A confident communicator who can inspire pupils and lead colleagues effectively
• Passionate about performance, creativity and extracurricular drama
• ECTs will be considered where there is clear evidence of readiness for responsibility
