Finance Business Partner | Chorley | £50,000 - £55,000 + stack of benefits

The Opportunity

Are you CIMA finalist / part qualified and looking to step away from the grind of month end and into a fully fledged business partnering position?

This position sits outside of core central accounting – reporting to the head of commercial finance your role is focused completely on FP&A, added value and business partnering activities.

The role suits someone who has excellent communication skills and enjoys working in close partnership with colleagues who work in none finance roles.

You’ll be using Excel and Power BI to interrogate the numbers (it’s a data rich business with an excellent tech stack and modern culture). You’ll be using your commercial acumen to make common sense summaries from that MI. Then you’ll be using your relationship building skills to help the business use those insights to make great decisions.

Your focus will surround the drivers of revenue & profit, the factors that impact cost and margin. You’ll be analysing KPIs and the metrics that sit behind growth and success.

The business is flying currently – way up year on year and ahead of stretching budgets. It’s a high ambition SME with a very credible and aspirational boardroom. You’ll be working for a forward thinking and driven FD / MD team and have support from an encouraging commercial finance lead. Superb mentoring from a modern leadership team of qualified accountants.

Required:

• Solid core accounting and analytical skills (background in financial analysis or management accounting)
• CIMA / ACCA part qual or qualified (degree in a relevant arena – accountancy / business / economics / maths).
• Drive and ambition and a proactive approach to solving new problems, picking up new tasks and building relationships.
• Excellent Excel (and ideally exposure to Power BI).
• Great communication skills and ability to discuss financial info and data with an audience from a non-accounting background.
