Description
As the Production Shift Manager you will be tasked with the following -
- The training of shift team staff and continuous development.
- Determine solutions and actions on problems of the day.
- Operational standards, safety and routine checks.
- Permit to work, and process isolation.
- SSOW and compliance of contract staff with site rules and working standards.
- Acts as emergency controller during plant incidents.
- Monitor operations in the control room and advice on deviations and alarms.
- Plant process (is) operating under license / permit from the Environment Agency.
- Responsible, as senior authorised person, for the issue and control of permits to work including High Voltage (HV).
- Task and monitoring of shift team. Implement efficient working practices. Work to operational procedures.
- Check, diagnose and advise on environmental parameters, analyse and make corrections in accordance with procedures and license.
- Adjust process conditions to meet KPI's set by line manager.
- Monitor water quality and advice on steam and condensate quality variances.
- Check process control for normal operating conditions and act on deviation and alarms.
- Review, update and develop operational procedures and SSOW as required by line manager.
- Maintain the operational function of the facility by inspection and prompt reporting of fault conditions.
- Use CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) to raise and monitor maintenance work orders
- Promote, through good working practice, positive employee relations.
- Promote a safety conscious attitude toward operational activities through sound safe systems of work, accurate and timely reporting of incidents.
- Ensure effective relationships with other departments to plan activities together.
- Produce shift log reports and analyse operational activities.
- Liaise with emergency services, point of call during silent hours.
Profile
A successful Production Shift Manager should have:
- Proven experience as a Production Shift Manager or Maintenance Team Leader in a similar environment such as; Oil, Gas, Chemical, Water Treatment, Recycling, Energy, Waste
- Engineering Qualification - Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering highly desirable
- NEBOSH or IOSH Safety certification
- Experience of working with Permit to work systems
- IT Literate - Excel, Word, Teams Etc.

- Competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £70,000, depending on experience.

- Shift Pattern - 12 hours (06:00 - 18:00 & 18:00-06:00) 4 on 5 off, 5 on 4 off, 4 on 12 off.
