Lead Android Engineer

Manchester (Hybrid - 2 days in office)

Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 DOE

We're looking for a Lead Android Engineer to help shape the future of a large-scale mobile platform used by millions across the UK.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll influence architecture, engineering standards, and platform direction while mentoring engineers and collaborating closely with Product and Design teams.

What you'll be doing

• Leading technical direction across Android engineering
• Building scalable mobile applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Driving best practices around architecture, testing, CI/CD, and performance
• Mentoring engineers and helping shape engineering culture
• Influencing long-term platform strategy and technical decision-making

What we're looking for

• Strong Android development experience with Kotlin
• Experience in a Lead, Staff, Principal, or similar engineering leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture
• Experience driving technical decisions across teams
• Passion for high-quality engineering and mentoring others
