Due to a sustained period of growth, our client is now seeking an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager (Deputy Warehouse Manager) to support the launch and ongoing operation of a new site.

You will play a key role in ensuring smooth inbound and outbound processes, supervising the team, maintaining high operational standards, and driving continuous improvement across warehouse functions.

Benefits & Salary

  • £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
  • Company pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer contribution)

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 17:00pm | Friday: 8:30am – 16:00pm

Key Duties & Responsibilities – Assistant Warehouse Manager

  • Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
  • Supervise, motivate, and support warehouse operatives to achieve daily targets and performance standards
  • Assist with managing inbound goods, stock put-away, picking, packing, and despatch activities
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by supporting stock control processes, cycle counts, and stock audits
  • Monitor warehouse performance and assist in tracking KPIs including productivity, accuracy, and service levels
  • Provide hands-on support across warehouse operations during busy periods
  • Assist with staff planning, shift coordination, and labour allocation
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, company policies, and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce errors
  • Assist in optimising warehouse layout, stock flow, and operational efficiency
  • Support the management and coordination of company delivery vehicles, including scheduling and compliance checks

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a warehouse supervisory, team leader, or assistant manager role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to support, coach, and motivate teams
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems (experience with Sage 200 or similar advantageous)
  • Good Excel and data handling skills
  • Understanding of warehouse operations, logistics processes, and compliance requirements
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
