About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Lettings Officer to join a busy Local Authority team based in Wembley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in housing, lettings, or voids management to play a key role in delivering an efficient, high-quality service.
You will manage the end-to-end lettings process for void properties, ensuring homes are re-let quickly while providing excellent customer service to incoming and outgoing tenants.
Key Responsibilities
Lettings & Voids Management
- Coordinate the full lettings process from tenancy termination to new sign-up
- Arrange and conduct property viewings and tenancy sign-ups
- Ensure void properties are re-let within target timescales to maximise rental income
- Monitor and track voids progress, working with contractors and internal teams
Customer Service & Communication
- Act as the first point of contact for lettings and voids enquiries
- Provide clear advice to tenants on tenancy obligations and processes
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and member queries efficiently
- Deliver a proactive, professional service with timely updates
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records across housing systems
- Prepare documentation for viewings, sign-ups, and handovers
- Carry out affordability assessments and pre-tenancy checks
- Complete CORE logs and ensure compliance with local authority policies
- Ensure all compliance certificates are in place before sign-up
Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination
- Liaise with contractors, surveyors, and internal departments
- Coordinate appointments and ensure smooth delivery of void works
- Monitor contractor performance and escalate issues where required
- Support KPI monitoring and service improvement initiatives
Continuous Improvement
- Identify hard-to-let properties and contribute ideas for improvement
- Support service efficiency initiatives and organisational change
- Maintain high-quality data collection, including property information and feedback
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in housing, lettings, voids, or tenancy management
- Highly organised with strong administrative and coordination skills
- A confident communicator with excellent customer service ability
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in maintaining accurate records and using housing systems
- Knowledgeable about local authority housing processes (desirable)
