Interim Director of Supply Chain - Commercial & Procurement

We are delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a 'Interim Director of Supply Chain' on a temporary, full-time basis!

Purpose:

To lead the Estates Supply Chain at a leading educational institution, you will oversee major spend across FM, energy, construction and sustainability.

This role will focus on managing the procurement team, strengthening stakeholder and supplier relationships, and improving commercial and supply chain performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the Executive Director in delivering the commercial strategy.
• Partner with Estates leadership to deliver the Estates Supply Chain strategy and day-to-day operations.
• Contribute to governance, including committees, reporting and approvals for change activity.
• Provide market and sector insight to inform institutional strategy.
• Lead, manage, and develop the Estates Commercial & Procurement team.
• Act as a senior leader on supply chain issues, strategy, negotiations and complex challenges.
• Oversee supplier performance management using KPIs, contracts, and commercial models.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Lead supply chain assurance, including risk, continuity and contingency planning.
• Drive adoption of new technology and improved systems.
• Ensure sustainability, accessibility, H&S, and social value are embedded in delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development programmes across the function.
