Senior Paraplanner – Leeds (Fully Flexible Hybrid) Salary: £45,000–£55,000 (depending on experience & qualifications) Hybrid: Fully flexible genuine trust and autonomy around office/home split Location: Leeds (city centre access, but no rigid office requirement) Firm Type: Chartered, forward-thinking financial planning firm
Why this role will appeal to a true Senior Paraplanner This is a standout opportunity for an experienced paraplanner who wants to operate at a genuinely senior level not just “more of the same with a different title”.
You’ll join a chartered, advice-led firm where paraplanners are seen as technical partners to the advisers. You’ll be involved in sophisticated planning, have a real say in how advice is delivered, and play a key role in mentoring and shaping the paraplanning function.
If you enjoy complex work, influencing process, and being listened to, this will feel like a step up.
What you’ll be doing You’ll work closely with chartered advisers on a wide range of planning scenarios, typically involving HNW and business-owner clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading on technical research and analysis across pensions, investments, tax and estate planning
- Producing high-quality, bespoke suitability reports for complex cases
- Building and interpreting cashflow models to support long-term planning recommendations
- Reviewing existing client structures and identifying planning opportunities and risks
- Supporting and sometimes attending client meetings to provide technical input
- Acting as a technical reference point for advisers and junior paraplanners
- Helping to design, refine and improve advice processes, templates and workflows
- Ensuring all advice is compliant, robust and clearly documented
This is a role with real depth and influence—ideal for someone who wants to be more than “just a report writer”.
Leadership, mentoring & progression Beyond the day-to-day technical work, you’ll also:
- Mentor junior and trainee paraplanners, supporting their development
- Provide input into training, standards and best practice within the team
- Contribute to technical discussions, case surgeries and planning sessions
- Have the opportunity to move into Lead / Technical Specialist / Team Lead style roles over time, if that appeals
If your long-term goal is to be seen as a go-to technical expert within a high-quality firm, this is a strong platform.
What they’re looking for - Significant experience in a paraplanning role, ideally at senior level
- Level 4 Diploma qualified as a minimum (Advanced Diploma / Chartered a strong advantage)
- Confident handling complex, multi-layered planning cases
- Strong report-writing skills with a focus on clarity and client understanding
- Comfortable mentoring others and sharing knowledge
- Someone proactive, commercially aware and happy to challenge and improve processes
This will suit someone who enjoys both technical depth and team influence.
What you’ll get in return - £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- Fully flexible hybrid working – outcome-focused, not time-at-desk focused
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with options to increase)
- Full support towards Advanced Diploma / Chartered status
- Regular CPD, technical sessions and access to high-quality training
- A collaborative culture where paraplanners and advisers work as one team
- The chance to genuinely shape how advice is delivered across the firm
