Cantonese-Speaking Nanny in Bayswater

Leaman Consulting

A warm and welcoming family based in Bayswater is seeking an experienced, proactive and engaging Cantonese-speaking nanny to join them in a long-term role caring for their two young children, a boy aged 4 and a girl aged 1.5 years.

The family has a very strong preference for a native or fluent Cantonese speaker, as maintaining and deepening the children's Cantonese fluency is a key priority within the household. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organised, nurturing, and genuinely passionate about early childhood development and language enrichment.

This is primarily a childcare-focused position, with cooking responsibilities for the children and light housekeeping related to them.

Duties will include:

  • Full weekday childcare support
  • Nursery and school pick-ups (within walking distance)
  • Planning fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities
  • Supporting daily routines including meals, bath time and bedtime preparation
  • Preparing healthy meals for the children
  • Supporting potty training for the younger child
  • Taking the children to local classes and activities, such as music and football
  • Encouraging Cantonese language development through:
  • Speaking Cantonese with the children throughout the day
  • Reading, storytelling, songs and poetry
  • Counting and writing practice
  • Arts, crafts and creative play
  • Cooking and active games
  • Children's laundry
  • Tidying and organising bedrooms and play areas
  • Kitchen clean-up following children's meals

The family would also appreciate flexibility for occasional paid evening babysitting and occasional travel, including potentially accompanying them during an August holiday.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a native or fluent Cantonese speaker
  • Have significant nanny or early years experience
  • Be confident caring for toddlers and preschool-aged children
  • Be warm, energetic, proactive and highly organised
  • Have a genuine interest in education and child development
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with parents

Accommodation:

  • The family's preference is for a live-in nanny, although they are open to live-out candidates for the right person.
  • For live-in candidates, accommodation can be offered on either a full-time basis or Monday-Friday only, and includes:
  • Private bedroom
  • En-suite shower room/toilet
  • Separate entrance on the lower ground floor

This is a lovely opportunity for a professional nanny seeking a long-term role with a kind and welcoming family in central London.
